The gathered conservatives in Quebec City will vote today, Saturday, on a series of changes to their policy guide during the last day of a three-day conference.
More than 2,500 delegates have gathered at a conference center near the historic city's walls to energize themselves for the upcoming elections and discuss what changes need to be made regarding the party's policy and constitution.

Unions from across the country have worked to promote certain priorities, and delegates met behind closed doors on Friday to determine which of those would reach the conference floor for final voting.

Many agreed with the priorities of Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre to address the cost of living and crime crisis, but others opposed his agenda.

A final list of proposed changes will be presented to delegates before voting begins today, although it is already known that some of the more controversial changes have failed.

This included putting a line in the policy book that would see conservatives committed to withdrawing federal funding from the English and French programming branches of the CBC, which would conflict with the desire of Quebec MPs to not undermine its French-language programming.

Therefore, after closed-door deliberations for delegates to determine which party policy proposals would reach the general floor for a vote later today, a final list of 30 proposed resolutions was issued, while others that failed sought to address the party's constitution, such as requiring party leaders to implement policies that were approved at conferences by the grassroots.
