Russian sources revealed that the body of the leader of the private Russian Wagner military group was identified in the morgue, just hours after confirming the crash of a private plane that carried 10 people, including the leader of Wagner and its founder.
Russian sources stated that the body of Yevgeny Prigozhin was identified in the morgue by one of the Wagner leaders, through the marker of losing one of his fingers.
Our correspondent reported that these sources also mentioned the identification of the body of Dmitry Utkin, the founder of the private military group and Prigozhin's assistant, through height markers and tattoo designs.
The sources noted the difficulty of visually identifying the bodies of the victims of Prigozhin's plane crash due to their "severe disfigurement" caused by fire and explosion.
Based on "indirect" marks, experts confirmed that Prigozhin is among the victims but the matter should be accurately determined through DNA testing.
The "Novosti Moskvy" channel confirmed on its "Telegram" account, citing its sources in the funeral authority in the city of Tver, north of the Russian capital Moscow, where the plane crashed, that Prigozhin's body is indeed present in the Tver regional office for forensic examination.
