A couple from Mississauga said their Ferrari was stolen from the parking garage in their apartment building last week while they were on vacation.
Trish said, "It's unfortunate, and my husband is very upset because it's his first Ferrari, but we hope to find it."
She also added that the 2017 Ferrari GTB 488 carbon, valued at $480,000, had been parked in a parking garage at a residential building near Hurontario Street and Burnhamthorpe Road East since July 20.
Surveillance footage showed an Alfa Romeo entering the garage early in the morning on July 23.
Trish stated that the garage was mysteriously open at that time, adding, "For some reason, the gate was wide open... normally security has to call the residence to ask if we are expecting a visitor, but we never received a call like that at all."
She pointed out that in less than four minutes, two of the three suspects started the Ferrari while disabling the alarm system, adding that she believes the alleged thieves were able to get into the car with a remote control.
Trish said, "The way it happened was very quick, as if they knew exactly where they were going."
She also explained that she and her husband didn't realize the car was missing until they returned home on July 31 and reported the theft the following day.
For its part, Peel Regional Police confirmed they are investigating the incident.
According to Trish, the car is unique and only 10 were manufactured, featuring a custom Italian flag from the rear wheel to the front wheel on both sides and has a black roof, with the license plate "MR WEALTH."
She said, "My husband had been looking for this car for five years."
Although she said insurance will likely cover the cost of the car, she and her husband hope to find the vehicle.
