After a wet April that saw heavy rains and dense snow, Montreal is now experiencing the longest period of sunny weather.
High pressure dominated the weather pattern starting today and is expected to bring a long period of sunshine to southwest Quebec.
Montreal expects continuous sunshine for at least the next eight days, and temperatures will rise as the heat moves from west to east.
Temperatures will be spring-like until the end of the week, but Montreal will see temperatures rise to the 20-degree range by Monday.
Montreal will record its first 20-degree Celsius temperature reading so far this year on Monday, and temperatures will continue to rise.
By mid-next week, the city will be as hot as summer. The last time Montreal experienced a dry and hot weather period lasting seven days was in November 2021.
But the last time the city saw a similar extended period with a large amount of sunshine was in August 2021 when the city experienced eight consecutive rain-free days from August 20 to 27.
