The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the postponement of the ninth edition of the "Mediterranean Dialogues Forum," which was scheduled to be held in Rome from November 2 to 4, to a later date next year due to the "current international situation."
Rome had previously announced for the same reason the postponement of the Italy-Africa Conference, which was scheduled to be held in early November, to the beginning of 2024.
The government attributed the postponement decision at that time to the "deterioration of the international security context," referring to the war in the Middle East. However, it noted that the postponement would allow for "better coordination" with other events on the international agenda, especially the African Union meetings and Italy's presidency of the Group of Seven major industrialized countries, in which "Africa will play a central role."
