The newspaper "Le Figaro" announced that several French ambassadors in the Middle East and some Maghreb countries have written and signed a joint memorandum in which they expressed their regret for the pro-Zionist stance taken by French President Emmanuel Macron in the ongoing war in Palestine.

The newspaper clarified that this unprecedented initiative in the modern history of French diplomacy in the Arab world, and the joint memorandum was sent to the Élysée, according to what was reported by "Russia Today".

A French diplomat who reviewed it stated, "This is not a joke, but in the memorandum, which cannot be described as an opposition memorandum, these ambassadors confirm that our pro-Israel position at the beginning of the crisis is currently misunderstood in the Middle East and contradicts our traditional balanced stance regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict."

The ambassadors expressed their fear of the repercussions of the position on their country's interests in the region, pointing to France losing its credibility and influence in the Arab world, becoming negatively perceived.

The article also revealed a division within the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding their country's position on the escalating events in Palestine.

It is noteworthy that since the start of the war between the Zionist entity and Hamas on October 7, Paris has taken a position supporting the occupier, affirming its right to defend itself.

The French President refused to hold the Israeli occupation army responsible for committing massacres against unarmed civilians in Gaza.
