Some are subjected to the "Firefall" that appears in Yosemite National Park, in the state of California, USA, believing it to be flowing volcanic lava, but in reality, it is only a waterfall like other waterfalls spread across most parts of the world, but it has a special nature that makes people think it is blazing fire that might consume everything green and dry, because of what this waterfall known as Horsetail Falls creates, embodying a story that shows the creativity of nature.
A magnificent cosmic phenomenon
Some people panic at first when they see this waterfall glowing in red and orange colors, but you will definitely be surprised when you know its truth, as Yosemite National Park attracts many visitors, including the Lebanese Mark Bouldoukian, in late February of each year.
This phenomenon occurs when the rays of the sunset shine on the waterfall at the correct angle, as shown in a video of the glowing waterfall while flowing.
Other factors of the phenomenon
Bouldoukian explained that several other factors must coincide for such a phenomenon to occur, adding that first and foremost, Horsetail Falls must be flowing, and if there is not enough ice in February, there will not be enough melting ice to flow the waterfall.
The temperatures must be warm enough during the day to melt the ice, and if the temperatures are very cold, the snow will remain frozen and Horsetail Falls will not flow.
Secondly, the sky must be clear at sunset.
The government National Park Service website confirmed online that fog or clouds can greatly diminish or eliminate the effect of this phenomenon.
