Dense fog creates some hazardous driving conditions around the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and much of Southern Ontario, for morning travel, where drivers are asked to allow extra time to navigate safely. According to Environment Canada, "visibility may drop significantly and suddenly to near zero." Likewise, the agency warned in a fog advisory: "Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility, and if (visibility) decreases while driving, slow down, watch the taillights ahead, and be prepared to stop."
Also, Metrolinx warned GO Transit customers early Thursday that dense fog could cause some minor delays for trains and buses during the morning rush hour. In the same context, Toronto Pearson International Airport stated that it remains operational but incoming flights may be delayed and passengers are advised to check their flight status with their airlines before heading to the airport.
Additionally, the fog is expected to clear late in the morning near noon, and the rest of the day may be partly cloudy with a high of 15 degrees Celsius, with patches of fog appearing again this evening.
