The police confirmed the killing of one person and the transfer of another to the hospital after a shooting outside Woburn Collegiate Institute in Scarborough this afternoon, Monday. The police also said that the shooting occurred just before 3:30 PM, in the front yard of the school, where one of the victims was found shot and was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where he was later declared dead in intensive care. The police also stated that a teenage boy was also taken to a trauma center through emergency transport after bringing himself to a local hospital while bleeding. Woburn Collegiate Institute was initially put on lockdown while the police conducted a sweep of the buildings. However, around 4:30 PM the police began escorting students out of the building. Parents were also informed that they could attend the southeast side of the school at Dorrington Drive and Ellesmere Road. So far, no arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing. Additionally, the police said the suspect was seen fleeing the area heading west and is described as a Black man wearing a black jacket and a COVID mask.
