The Canadian Statistics Agency said that the annual inflation rate in Canada accelerated to 8.1 percent in
last June, the highest level since January 1983, mainly due to rising gasoline prices.
Analysts surveyed by (Reuters) had expected the annual rate to rise to 8.4 percent in June from 7.7 percent in May.
