Canada cancels COVID-19 test for fully vaccinated travelers

Fully vaccinated travelers will be able to come to Canada without undergoing a COVID-19 test unless they are randomly selected for this test starting next month.

"Starting in April, Canada will no longer require fully vaccinated travelers to present a COVID-19 test to enter the country!" tweeted Transport Minister Omar Alghabra on Thursday.

However, travelers aged five or older who are partially vaccinated or unvaccinated will still need to provide proof of an acceptable type of COVID-19 test result before entry in order to come to Canada.

These include:

A valid and negative antigen test, administered or supervised by an accredited laboratory or testing provider, conducted outside Canada at least one day prior to the originally scheduled flight departure or their arrival at the land border or seaport of entry;

A valid negative molecular test taken no more than 72 hours before the originally scheduled flight departure time or their arrival at the land border or seaport of entry, or:

A previous positive molecular test taken at least 10 calendar days and not more than 180 calendar days before the originally scheduled flight departure time or their arrival at the land border or seaport of entry.

Positive antigen test results are not accepted.

All travelers, whether vaccinated or not, will also still need to submit their mandatory information through the ArriveCAN mobile app or website before arriving in Canada.
