A man in Manitoba faces truck theft charges after the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) investigated reports of a truck swerving significantly on the Trans-Canada Highway east of Calgary. Officers responded to the west of Strathmore town in the afternoon of October 1st, but their pursuit did not last long as the suspicious vehicle, a white transport truck, stopped along the highway. Police officials also said the driver was outside the vehicle "in a confused state" and there were signs that he was intoxicated. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police stated that further investigations revealed that the 42-year-old Manitoba man was driving with a suspended license and that the truck had been stolen in Calgary about six hours earlier. The thief was charged with two counts of failing to comply with a release condition and traffic safety violations related to suspended driving. While Larocque remains in custody before his court appearance, the police confirm that the truck was later returned to its owner.
