A Newmarket school photographer faces charges after allegations of sexual assault on two students at a Newmarket school last September.
The York Regional Police (YRP) said it launched an investigation into a school photographer after a 15-year-old victim came forward and reported sexual assault. YRP also added that the first incident occurred on September 16, 2022, when the student was taking her school photo.
During the investigation, police said the second victim, a 16-year-old girl from the same school, came forward and reported sexual assault by the same suspect. The police also stated they have not identified the school where the assaults took place, adding that on November 2, the suspect was arrested and charged in both incidents.
Scott Chrisan Tilby, a resident of Barrie, is the accused who faces two charges of assault and sexual exploitation.
Also, YRP said in a press release on November 9: "Investigators are releasing his image and asking any additional victims to come forward, as sexual assault includes any non-consensual sexual contact."
Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact the YRP Special Victims Unit - Sexual Assault Section at 1-866-876-5423 ext. 7071, or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or at www.1800222tips.com.
