Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen said today, Thursday, December 28, 2023, that there is no room to return their ambassador to Turkey as long as Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is president.

Cohen's statement comes a day after Erdoğan described Netanyahu as similar to Hitler, saying there is no difference between the two, and he likened the attacks carried out by the Israeli occupation on the Gaza Strip to the Nazis' treatment of Jews during World War II.

In a speech in the capital Ankara yesterday, Wednesday, Erdoğan referred to the Israeli occupation's assaults on Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the detention of civilians naked in stadiums, asking, "Have we not seen Israeli Nazi camps in the stadiums?"

Erdoğan added that Israelis talk about Hitler in a very different way, but there is no difference between them and him because of what they are doing in Gaza.

Erdoğan also said in astonishment, "Is there a different aspect between what Netanyahu and Hitler did? Hitler was not even this big.. this is too much for Hitler."

In early November, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the recall of the Turkish ambassador in Tel Aviv to Ankara, based on the Israeli side's failure to respond to demands for a ceasefire and its continued attacks on civilians.
