The Ontario government announced that public institutes in the province can now develop new curricula to address the labor shortage.
These programs should focus on technical fields where the labor shortage is tangible, said the Ontario government. Also, these new programs should be different from the courses available at universities.
These programs should aim to qualify "highly skilled technical workers in the fields of healthcare, digital electronics, data, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity."
Among other things. "To support the growth of the automotive sector in Ontario, the government will also seek to provide programs that contribute to developing the talents needed to build electric, autonomous, and connected cars, as well as programs to support the development of workers who will participate in building infrastructure, roads, and public transportation networks in the province."
The statement added. The duration of these study programs ranges between three and four years, at the end of which the student obtains a degree, as stated in the government statement.
