Two restaurants in Winnipeg have been ranked among the best restaurants in the country. This week, the list of the top 100 restaurants in Canada was released after a two-year hiatus, featuring the "Maque and Close Company" of Winnipeg.

The list named "Maque," located on Dorchester Avenue, as the 74th best restaurant in Canada, with "Close Company," located on Stafford Street, ranking 83rd.

The restaurant rankings were revealed at an event held in Toronto on Monday night, with a Vancouver restaurant on Main Street taking first place.

The list was created by 100 food industry insiders and famous chefs, with judges voting based on the complete dining experience, including service, decor, and food quality.

The judging panel was allowed to evaluate restaurants abroad to ensure equal opportunities, as some cities were in complete lockdown due to the pandemic while others were open. This year's competition also welcomed dozens of new judges and chefs selected from the 2020 competition participants.
