A 21-year-old girl was found dead inside an apartment in Mississauga earlier in July.
The Peel Police then moved to a residential building in Port Credit, on Helene Street North, west of Hurontario Street, after receiving a report about a woman residing in the building, as they also received a report from her father "Jack Vanpa" after he was unable to contact her.
Police found Beach, who was also known as Polly, dead inside her apartment. According to a statement from Peel Police, the investigation into Beach's death is being treated as a murder that likely occurred between July 17 and July 18.
The father, Vanpa, immediately traveled to Toronto, where investigators met him upon his arrival at Toronto Pearson Airport and informed him of his daughter’s death.
It is noted that Jack Vanpa immigrated with his family from Thailand to Canada in 2004, believing it was one of the safest places in the world, settling in New Brunswick, and worked hard with his family as new immigrants to pave their way to become Canadian citizens.
Vanpa described what happened to his daughter as a tragedy, stating that his family's hearts are broken, and that there are no words to express how sad he is, he said with sorrow: "Our hearts are heavy, she is my beloved beautiful daughter."
Vanpa explained that his daughter Beach grew up in Georgetown, alongside two brothers and a sister, and then moved to Mississauga about a year ago to attend the Toronto Film School, and he confirmed that she was planning to join her family and move to New Brunswick at the end of August.
Peel Police charged 29-year-old Jordan Saunders with second-degree murder, and he remains in custody.
