Drivers in Toronto should be aware of some major road closures occurring throughout the city this weekend.

City officials said in a press release, "Don Valley Parkway will be closed to vehicle traffic from York Mills Road to Gardiner Expressway on Sunday, June 5 from 2 AM to 2 PM to support the Bike for Brain health campaign."

Gardiner Expressway will also be closed between DVP and South Kingsway at the same time.

The closures will not be limited to the city's highways. Dundas Street West will also be closed between Ossington and Landsdowne Roads from 1 PM on Friday, June 3 until 1 AM on Monday, June 6, for the Do West Fest festival.

The ActiveTO event will also take place this weekend at The Meadoway, with roads closed from Brimley Road to Scarborough Golf Club Road, from 7 AM Saturday until 7 PM Sunday.

Additionally, roads will be closed to vehicles in High Park as well.

If you want to avoid traffic issues this weekend, the public transit network and subway (TTC) will be operating nearly all services, except for closures on Line 2 between Jane and Ossington stations and on Line 1 between Sheppard West and Lawrence West stations, while alternative shuttle buses will be available.
