More Canadians have been approved to leave Gaza through the Rafah crossing on the border with Egypt.
A new document published by the General Authority of Crossings and Borders in Gaza showed 165 names under the heading "Canada".
Today, Sunday, the Israeli army ordered the evacuation of more areas inside and around Khan Yunis, the second largest city in the Gaza Strip, at the same time as it shifted its attack to the southern half of the sector where it says many Hamas leaders are hiding.
Reports also came of heavy shelling during the night and until Sunday in the Khan Yunis area and Rafah itself.
Many of the sector's 2.3 million residents are crowded in the south after Israeli forces ordered civilians to leave the north in the early days of the ongoing two-month-old war.
The war broke out after an attack carried out by Hamas and other militants on October 7, which killed about 1200 people, mostly civilians, in southern Israel.
