Both grocery stores Costco and Walmart claimed that they offer consumers a wide range of products at the lowest prices in the market, and both have a large customer base.

To determine which store offers the best value, MTL Blog conducted a comparison between the two stores to find out which one deserves this praise.

For the comparison, the same shopping list of 20 items was requested online, including products such as olive oil, canned tuna, white rice, ground coffee, pasta, peanut butter, soap, shampoo, and cleaning products.

Only products available for online delivery were selected to take a partial look at the value of the items and determine which store offers the best value for each product.

The products on the list represented those that offered the best value, not just the lowest price.

Costco :

Total value of goods: $356.70

Total including taxes (there were no additional delivery fees): $381.01

Walmart :

Total value of goods: $131.75

Total including taxes and delivery fees: $149.48

Out of the 20 items on the shopping list, Walmart provided better value for 15 items, according to MTL Blog.
